The Roast Beast

Episode 2 of The Common Man Chronicles, “The Roast Beast,” picks up right where the last cup spilled. The Common Man turns to find a wide-eyed, shaggy intruder looming in the garage doorway—The Boogie Monster! Coffee goes flying as both man and beast scream in surprise, each startled by the other. But before fists or fur start flying, something unexpected happens… they talk.

With a wrench in hand and suspicion on his brow, The Common Man questions the odd creature now nervously explaining that it couldn’t resist the smell of fresh roast. The tension is thicker than espresso foam until, cautiously, a shaky mug of hot coffee is offered. And just like that, Boogie Monster slurps it down—messy, loud, and totally content. Turns out, he just wanted a cup to take the edge off his fuzz.

By the episode’s end, the unlikely pair is seated on overturned buckets, sipping in silence. The Common Man, still wrapping his head around the talking, coffee-crazed sasquatch in his garage, can’t help but smirk. Maybe this hairy headache isn’t so bad after all. But with Tap-Out still lurking and the coffee world heating up, things are just getting percolated…
